The Sharjah NYU Executive Programme is designed for top-level executives and CEOs in the publishing industry. The goal is to help these professionals improve their skills so they can create better international publishing strategies. Participants will also learn about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing, contracts, data analysis, and design. The program will also focus on advanced techniques in content development and sales strategies. This is part of the SBA’s efforts to help the global publishing industry grow through quality programs and initiatives.

This announcement was made during the SBA's participation in the New Delhi International Book Fair (NDWBF) 2025, which took place from February 1 to 9, 2025, at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, India.

The SBA’s presence at the book fair shows Sharjah’s commitment to promoting cross-cultural exchanges and supporting the spread of Emirati and Arabic literature worldwide. At the fair, the SBA showcased books by Emirati authors and highlighted the growing creative industry in Sharjah and the UAE. The SBA also continued to support authors, translators, and publishers through key programs like the Publishers Conference, Booksellers Conference, and the Sharjah International Book Fair Translation Grant.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, the CEO of the SBA, shared that the authority’s involvement in the NDIBF reflects the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah. The goal is to position Sharjah as a leading global center for knowledge and strengthen cultural dialogue with other nations. Through meetings with publishers, authors, and industry experts in India, Sharjah is creating new opportunities for Emirati publishers and fostering the spread of Arabic literature.

Al Ameri also mentioned that under Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi’s leadership, the SBA continues to play a key role in improving cultural communication and the publishing industry. The authority has built strong relationships with publishers worldwide and is looking for ways to help Indian publishers reach Arab readers. He emphasized that books are an important tool for bringing cultures together and promoting understanding.

Mansour Al Hassani, the Director of Publishing Services at SBA, spoke about the importance of helping publishers develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s changing industry. He noted that publishing in the AI era requires new skills that are different from the traditional ones. This is why programs like the Sharjah NYU Executive Programme are so important for professional development.

Al Hassani also explained that Sharjah being selected as the first city to host this prestigious program outside the United States shows global trust in Sharjah as a cultural hub. It also strengthens Sharjah’s role in supporting the publishing industry and highlights the SBA’s commitment to empowering publishers through educational programs and events that bring together top experts from the field.
