Motorists in Sharjah can now renew their car registration more easily by using an app. The Sharjah Police, together with Rafid Vehicle Solutions, introduced this service through the ‘Rafid’ app.

This new service is for private cars that have Sharjah number plates. To use it, the car must be no more than eight years old, and it should have passed the last technical check in the past 18 months.
To use the service, people need to open the Rafid app and click on the ‘Remote Inspection’ button. Then, they can follow the steps to take clear pictures of different parts of their car. These pictures will be checked to make sure the car has no accident damage. This means motorists do not have to visit an inspection center in person.
However, company cars are not included in this service.
Colonel Khaled Mohammed Al Kay from the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department of Sharjah Police said this service is part of the emirate’s move to digital services. It aims to make things quicker and easier for people.
Ahmed Jumaa Al Mashreq, CEO of Rafid, said the service is a big step forward in making car-related services easier and faster for the community.
Rafid Vehicle Solutions is a company owned by Sharjah Asset Management, which is the investment branch of the Sharjah government.
