Sunita L. Williams, a renowned NASA astronaut, is gearing up for her third space mission, this time as the pilot of the Crew Flight Test mission aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. This mission marks the spacecraft's first crewed flight and Williams' return to the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA announced two media opportunities in preparation for the Boeing Crew Flight Test scheduled for launch at 10:34 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 6, from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This mission is a crucial milestone for Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program, as it will test the system's capabilities from launch to docking and return to Earth.

Williams has a distinguished spaceflight record, beginning with Expedition 14/15 from December 9, 2006, to June 22, 2007. She set a female record with four spacewalks totaling 29 hours and 17 minutes. Her second mission, Expedition 32/33 from July 14 to November 18, 2012, saw her spending four months conducting research and exploration aboard the ISS, once again setting the record for cumulative spacewalk time.

Throughout her missions, Williams contributed significantly to space exploration, conducting research and performing spacewalks. Her outstanding achievements have earned her numerous awards and honors, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Navy Commendation Medal, among others.

Currently, Williams is undergoing intensive training to pilot the Crew Flight Test mission aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, marking yet another milestone in her illustrious career as an astronaut.
