This September, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is set to further its mission of enriching the cultural landscape with a variety of engaging events. These activities reflect the Library’s commitment to fostering a love for reading and learning within the community, aligning with national strategies and the vision of building a knowledge-based future.
The month begins with the “Success Story” session, where individuals with determination will share their inspiring journeys of overcoming significant life challenges. This event offers a platform for attendees to hear motivational stories, emphasizing resilience and the power of perseverance.
Following this, the Library will host a discussion titled “A Gathering on Literature and Criticism.” This session will focus on the short story collection “Hair Tie,” which won the 2023 Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity. The discussion will feature the collection’s author, Sarab Ghanem, alongside Emirati critic and writer Dr. Maryam Al Hashimi, who will explore the literary depth and significance of the work.

In collaboration with Al Jalila Hospital, the Library will present a session on "The Emotional Intelligence in Relationships," featuring Dr. Maha Al Ali. This talk will address the role of emotional intelligence in building strong and healthy relationships in today’s social environment, offering practical strategies for enhancing emotional communication.
The Library will also offer an interactive workshop titled “Educational Keys for Conscious Families,” led by Ms. Naema Al Shamsi. Organized in partnership with the Community Development Authority, this workshop will provide practical solutions to the social and psychological challenges families face in raising children, focusing on stress management and improving family communication.
Omani author Bushra Khalfan will lead a workshop on “Establishing a Historical Novel Writing Methodology.” This session will delve into techniques for crafting historical narratives, aimed at helping aspiring writers transform historical events into captivating stories.
In celebration of poetry, the Library will host the session “Son of the Desert,” dedicated to the late poet Ali Sultan bin Bakhit Al-Amimi. Media personality Waleed Al Marzouqi will moderate the event, which will feature Dr. Rashid Al Mazrouei, Dr. Sultan Al Amimi, and Dr. Abdul Aziz Muslim. They will discuss the poet’s contributions and his impact on Emirati literature.
The Library will also explore Japanese philosophy with a session on Ikigai, led by Dr. Amal Omar Hamed. This discussion will cover themes of happiness, life purpose, and finding meaning in daily life, offering insights into this profound philosophical concept.
Additionally, visitors will enjoy a special cinematic experience featuring filmmaker Nawaf Al-Janahi. This event will showcase a selection of innovative short films, providing a fresh perspective on the art of cinema.
The month will include the “Sustainable Minds” workshop by Salma Al-Hajri, which focuses on creative thinking and modern educational approaches. This workshop aims to inspire participants to adopt innovative strategies that address contemporary educational needs.
Finally, the Library will present a workshop titled “Travel Diaries” by author Ibrahim Al-Dhahli. This session will guide participants in documenting their travels and experiences in a unique literary style, turning personal journeys into compelling narratives.
September’s activities will wrap up with a session for International Translation Day, where a panel of translators and enthusiasts will discuss the influence of artificial intelligence on translation, the future of the field, and the evolving role of translators in the digital age
