Bournemouth won 1-0 against Fulham in a very important match. Antoine Semenyo scored a goal in the first minute of the game, helping Bournemouth end a run of eight matches without a win. This victory moved Bournemouth into 8th place, ahead of Fulham on goal difference. Both teams now have 48 points from 32 games, but Bournemouth’s goal difference puts them higher.

The key moment came very early in the match. Just 53 seconds in, Fulham’s Antonee Robinson missed a chance to stop a pass to Semenyo. Semenyo took advantage of the mistake, moved inside from the right, and shot the ball low into the bottom corner of the net. His quick goal gave Bournemouth the lead that they kept for the rest of the match.
Bournemouth could have scored again when Evanilson hit the post with a shot after a header from Alex Scott at the back post. This was Bournemouth’s first win at home since January. Fulham, on the other hand, lost their third away match in a row, which made it harder for them to stay in the race for a spot in European football.
Fulham had more of the ball and took more shots on target than Bournemouth, but they couldn’t score. Bournemouth defended well, and Fulham missed a few big chances. One of those chances was when Ryan Sessegnon had a free header from a cross by Alex Iwobi, but he shot it right at goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
After Bournemouth’s goal, they almost made it 2-0 when Evanilson’s shot from close range hit the bar. Fulham had another chance when Iwobi took a shot that Kepa had to save. Fulham also asked for a penalty when Evanilson went down after a pass from Fulham’s Calvin Bassey. However, the referee said no penalty after checking the video replay.
Semenyo said after the game that the win was very important. “It was a big win for us,” he said. “Our coach said this game was a make-or-break one for us. We gave our best, and you could see how happy we were at the end.”
Fulham’s goalkeeper Bernd Leno said his team didn’t play well in the first 20 minutes but got better in the second half. “We weren’t playing at our level in the first part of the game. We were lucky it was only 1-0 at that point,” he said. “In the second half, we tried hard, but Bournemouth defended well. We’re still in a good place for Europe.”
With this win, Bournemouth has a chance to fight for a spot in European football next season. They are just six points behind Aston Villa, who hold the last spot for European football. Fulham will need to do better in their away games if they want to stay in the race for Europe.
