The Saudi Arabian sports teams are continuing their impressive participation in the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which are being hosted in Riyadh in 2025. The event has brought together top athletes from across the Islamic world, competing in various sports to promote unity, excellence, and cultural exchange through sportsmanship.
The games, organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), have been a showcase of talent, discipline, and teamwork — values that reflect the spirit of Islamic solidarity and Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in the world of international sports.
The Saudi show jumping team will begin its campaign today in the individual events of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The first round is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. at the Janadriyah Arena in Riyadh.
The event is expected to draw significant attention from fans and sports enthusiasts as Saudi riders, known for their skill and precision, compete against top athletes from other participating nations. The team has been preparing intensively for months under the guidance of experienced trainers to ensure a strong performance.
Equestrian sports, especially show jumping, hold a special place in Saudi Arabia’s sporting culture. The Kingdom has produced several internationally recognized riders who have represented the country at prestigious competitions, including the Olympic Games and World Equestrian Championships.
The participation of the Saudi team at the Islamic Solidarity Games reflects the nation’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting traditional yet globally recognized sports disciplines.
Meanwhile, the Saudi swimming team will wrap up its participation in the games today. The swimmers are set to compete in three final races on the concluding day of the swimming events, held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh.
The swimming competitions have witnessed strong performances from athletes across various Islamic countries, with Saudi swimmers showing notable improvement in speed, endurance, and technique. Over the past week, the team has been praised for its dedication and sportsmanship, representing the Kingdom with pride.
The Saudi Swimming Federation has been actively working to raise the level of competition by organizing national championships, training camps, and youth development programs — efforts that have begun to bear fruit in international arenas such as the Islamic Solidarity Games.
In addition to equestrian and swimming events, karate competitions will also conclude today at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City Stadium in Riyadh’s Al-Malaz district. Several Saudi athletes are among the participants vying for medals on the final day.
The Kingdom’s karate team has steadily gained recognition in recent years for its competitive spirit and technical skills. Many of the participating athletes have trained extensively under both local and international coaches, preparing for the high-level matches that the Islamic Solidarity Games are known for.
The final rounds of the karate competition are expected to be intense, with athletes demonstrating not just physical strength but also discipline and strategy — hallmarks of martial arts.
The Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games have served as a powerful platform for athletes from over 50 participating nations to connect and compete. The event also reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing status as a regional hub for global sports and a promoter of youth engagement through athletics.
From advanced venues such as Janadriyah Arena to modern complexes like Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, the organization of the games has showcased the Kingdom’s ability to host international sporting events with excellence and professionalism.
As the competitions continue, Saudi athletes across various sports remain determined to deliver strong results and contribute to their country’s sporting legacy.
