A historic moment is on the horizon as a 27-year-old model prepares to grace the Miss Universe stage carrying the Saudi flag for the very first time.

Rumy Alqahtani, a seasoned beauty pageant contestant and an influencer boasting a million-strong following on Instagram, made the groundbreaking announcement on Monday. In an Instagram post, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent the kingdom in one of the world's most prestigious pageants.

Accompanying her announcement were striking photos showcasing Alqahtani in full regalia: adorned in a strapless, sequined gown, donning a tiara, and proudly holding the flag of Saudi Arabia.
