Samsung OneUI 7 rolls out today: Check update details

Samsung, a big phone and tablet company from South Korea, will start giving its new phone update to many users from April 7. This new update is called OneUI 7. It is made from Android 15. Samsung first showed this update in January when they showed the new Galaxy S25 phones. Now, many older phones will also get this new look and new tools.

The update will not come to all phones at once. Samsung will send it to some phones first. These phones are Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Galaxy S23 phones, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10, and Tab S9. After that, more phones will get the update, like Galaxy S22, S21, older Fold and Flip phones, Tab S8, and S6 Lite.

To see if your phone got the update, go to your phone’s Settings. Then tap Software Update. Tap Check for Updates. If the update is ready, tap Download and Install. Your phone will restart after the update is done.

The new update makes the phone look better. Icons and screens look fresh and clean. Charging shows a new picture. You can now open music, voice recorder, translator, and stopwatch right from the lock screen. The camera is also easier to use now, with better buttons and simple settings.

Samsung also made safety better. A tool called Knox Matrix lets you see how safe all your Samsung devices are. If your phone gets lost, you can still keep your data safe. You can log in without typing passwords. You can block weak Wi-Fi and old 2G mobile service to stay safe.

There is also a new safety tool if your phone is stolen. It locks the phone and you need fingerprint or face to make big changes. This keeps your phone safe from strangers.

Some special tools like “Now Brief” and “Live Call Text” are only for the newest phones. But old phones will still get nice tools like choosing text or info with one tap, help with writing, checking spelling, drawing tools that you can guide with your voice or writing, and sound fixer that removes noise from videos.

This update gives many good things to Samsung phones and tablets. It helps the phone work better, look nicer, and stay safe.
