Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has resumed its marine transport services, benefiting residents and visitors around the Water Canal and Business Bay areas. This service revival follows the completion of significant enhancement works, aiming to improve public and tourist marine transport options in these key areas. The newly enhanced service will operate on two primary lines, connecting various tourist and business attractions.
The relaunch of these operations aligns with RTA’s continued efforts to improve customer satisfaction through quality service enhancements and seamless integration with other mobility options. With bicycles and e-scooters readily available at nearby stations, commuters now have greater flexibility in their transport choices. The RTA is also working closely with stakeholders across Dubai to ensure that customer service demands are met while contributing to the city’s broader objectives, including improved quality of life.

Khalaf Hassan Abdullah Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at the Public Transport Agency, RTA, highlighted the strategic importance of these developments. "The objective behind developing and resuming these marine transport lines is to support Dubai’s economy and waterfront projects. We’re enhancing connectivity and public access to these areas, which will increase their appeal to both residents and tourists. This is a key part of our comprehensive marine transport plan, 2020-2030, which aims to cater to the city’s growing needs while serving developers," he said.
The first service line, designated as DC2, operates six days a week from Monday to Saturday, running between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. On Sundays, the schedule shifts slightly, with operations starting at 10:00 AM and continuing until 10:00 PM. This line connects the Waterfront, Marasi, Business Bay, Godolphin, and Sheikh Zayed Road stations, offering a convenient travel option between residential and commercial hubs. The intervals between trips range from 30 to 50 minutes, ensuring frequent service for commuters.
The second line, DC3, focuses on connecting Al Jaddaf Station with the Dubai Design District Marine Transport Station. This service operates on Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. It runs every 35 minutes, offering a reliable link between these two areas. The DC3 line also caters to passengers who wish to connect to the Creek Metro Station on the Green Line from the Dubai Design District, making it a convenient option for commuters. The fare for both lines is set at AED 2 per stop, making marine transport an affordable option.
With these enhancements, the RTA is working to further integrate marine transport with other modes of transportation, supporting Dubai’s ambition to create a fully interconnected and sustainable public transport system. These improvements also align with the city’s vision of becoming a global destination, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure to support waterfront developments.
