Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started an important project to improve roads in 19 residential areas across the city. The project will cover a total length of 11.5 kilometers. It includes building new roads, fixing existing ones, adding parking spaces along the sides of the roads, creating sidewalks for people to walk safely, and installing better streetlights to make the roads brighter and safer at night.
This project aims to make traveling easier, faster, and safer for the people living in these areas. It will help vehicles move smoothly in and out of neighborhoods. The new road connections will reduce travel time by up to 40%, making daily journeys much quicker. The roads will also provide a more comfortable and safe driving experience for everyone. RTA is working hard to make sure Dubai’s roads are of the highest quality, meeting the needs of all road users while keeping them safe.
The 19 residential areas that will benefit from this project are: Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Nad Shamma, Jumeirah 1, Zabeel 1, Al Rashidiya, Muhaisnah 1, Al Barsha 1, Al Hudaiba, Al Quoz 1, Al Quoz 3, Al Qusais 2, Al Satwa, Al Twar 1, Mirdif, Umm Al Ramool, Umm Suqeim 1, Al Mizhar 1, and Al Mizhar 2. These areas will see noticeable improvements in their road networks.

This initiative is very important because Dubai is growing quickly. More people are moving to the city, and new neighborhoods are being developed. RTA is making sure the roads can handle this growth by improving traffic flow and reducing congestion. This will help save time for people traveling and make it easier for them to reach their destinations.
The project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026. Once finished, the improved road connections will make life easier for people in these neighborhoods. They will have better access to their homes and other places they need to go. The project will also ensure that traffic moves smoothly, reducing delays and making daily travel more convenient. RTA’s efforts show its strong commitment to improving roads and making travel better for everyone in Dubai.
By paving roads, adding better traffic solutions, and upgrading infrastructure, RTA is ensuring that the city’s roads keep up with the needs of its growing population. This project will bring long-term benefits to Dubai’s residents, ensuring they can enjoy safer, faster, and more efficient roads.
