RTA announces completion of Al Mizhar road expansion

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a significant infrastructure upgrade in the Al Mizhar area, with the addition of new lanes stretching 6.8 kilometers. This expansion notably involves widening Streets A11 and A26 from two lanes to four in both directions.

The initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours, with RTA officials anticipating a notable reduction in travel times. By doubling the road capacity from 1,200 vehicles to 2,400 vehicles per hour, the project promises to enhance the overall efficiency of transportation in the area.

Moreover, the development encompasses more than just roadway expansion. It includes the creation of 551 additional parking spaces and the establishment of a 5.7-kilometer cycling track, aligning with Dubai's commitment to promoting sustainable modes of transportation.

This undertaking underscores RTA's ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and upgrade infrastructure across the emirate. With 45 locations currently undergoing enhancements, the RTA remains steadfast in its mission to enhance the overall road network and commuting experience for residents and visitors alike in Dubai.
