Real Madrid Seal Late Victory Against Leganes to Reach Copa Del Rey Semifinals

Real Madrid won 3-2 against Leganes in the Copa del Rey, thanks to a last-minute header by young striker Gonzalo Garcia. This goal in the 93rd minute helped send his team into the semi-finals. Luka Modric and Endrick scored for Madrid earlier, but Juan Cruz’s two goals for Leganes kept the game close.

Madrid was missing Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham due to injuries, so young players Jacobo Ramon and Raul Asencio started in defense. Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the younger players for doing well, even though they still lacked experience.

Madrid started strong, with Modric scoring in the 18th minute, followed by Endrick's second goal. But the game became tough when Leganes earned a penalty and Cruz scored. In the second half, Madrid missed several chances to extend their lead, and Cruz scored again for Leganes.

In the final moments of the match, Brahim Diaz made an excellent run and crossed to Gonzalo, who scored with a header, giving Madrid the victory.

This win keeps Madrid fresh for their big upcoming matches against Atletico Madrid and Manchester City. Ancelotti said that Gonzalo's goal came at the perfect time, just before extra time started.

Madrid now moves on to the semi-finals and will play against Atletico Madrid this Saturday before traveling to Manchester City for their Champions League match on Tuesday.
