Ras Al Khaimah International Airport arrests two drug smugglers

Ras Al Khaimah Customs successfully thwarted two separate attempts to smuggle approximately 11 kilograms of narcotics into the country. The contraband was cleverly concealed in the luggage of two travelers upon their arrival at the airport. The customs officials, demonstrating sharp suspicion and vigilance, intervened promptly, leading to the discovery of the illicit substances.

Authorities highlighted the professionalism with which the narcotics were hidden, indicating the sophistication of the smuggling operation. This successful interception was attributed to the extensive training, experience, and meticulous attention to detail exhibited by the customs employees during the inspection process.

Following the seizure, the confiscated narcotics were promptly handed over to the relevant authorities to initiate further security procedures and investigations. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mahrezi, the Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Customs, commended the customs personnel for their pivotal role in safeguarding the state and its inhabitants from the dangers posed by smuggling activities.

Dr. Al Mahrezi underscored the significance of continuous training and support for the customs inspection staff, emphasizing the department's unwavering commitment to equipping its team members with the necessary skills and resources to effectively carry out their duties in combating illicit activities.

The incident highlights the crucial role played by customs authorities in maintaining security at entry points and underscores the ongoing efforts to counter drug smuggling and uphold law and order in the region.
