Rapper Cardi B has expressed her intense frustration following the results of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, particularly over the victory of Donald Trump. The Grammy-winning rapper, who had previously shown strong support for Kamala Harris and even campaigned for her, took to Instagram to voice her anger. In an emotional Instagram Live session, Cardi B was seen venting her displeasure with Trump supporters. She was visibly upset, shouting, “I swear to God, I’m gonna f*** you up, get away from me.”

In the video, Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Cephus, reacted to a comment from a fan who suggested she attend Trump’s inauguration. Cardi responded sharply, saying, “I swear to God I’m gonna f*** you up, get away from me. I’m sick of you! Burn your f***ing hats, motherf***er. I’m really sad. I swear to God I’m really sad.” The rapper’s frustration was evident, as she continued to process the election results, expressing her disbelief and sadness over the outcome.

As Cardi B watched the election results unfold, she shared her emotional thoughts on Vice President Kamala Harris, whom she had supported throughout the election. Cardi emphasized her pride in Harris, stating, "No matter what, I know that she's probably emotional right now. I know there's probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she's not listening to this, but she will eventually see it.” She continued, “I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her."

Cardi also reflected on Harris’s role in the campaign, stating, "When I look at her face and she was talking to me, I thought she was very genuine and not playing any f***ing games." She expressed her admiration for Harris’s work over the past few months and noted the challenges she faced. "She had 100 days to do all of this and she woke this nation up. I feel there was a lot of things that went wrong last year and they kept her too much in the background. I’m proud of her and I hope she's proud of herself no matter what happens tonight."

In a separate post on Instagram, Cardi B shared a heartfelt message to Kamala Harris, stating, "To Vice President Kamala Harris, no matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency, they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and integrity!"

The rapper’s anger was part of a larger outpouring of frustration among several other celebrities in the wake of the election results. Hollywood stars such as Alec Baldwin, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christina Applegate also took to social media to express their disappointment. Jamie Lee Curtis shared her concern for minority groups and marginalized communities, writing, "Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid. Gay and trans people will be more afraid. We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people, there will be those who will help you. Me included."

Christina Applegate also expressed her anger over the result, saying on X, “Why? Give me your reasons why????? My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me.” Author Stephen King also weighed in, writing on X, "There's a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT'S SOLD. You can say the same about democracy."

Despite the widespread frustration from celebrities and others, Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election secured him a second non-consecutive term as president. He won the electoral college in Wisconsin and secured the majority of 270 electoral votes, defeating his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris. At 78 years old, Trump will become the oldest president to be inaugurated, with his inauguration scheduled for January 20, 2025.
