The accused, identified as Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the forensic sciences department, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, a casualty medical officer, and Atul Ghatkamble, a staffer from the mortuary, stand accused of a grave offense: tampering with blood samples related to a high-profile accident case involving a teenager.

The incident stems from a tragic accident on May 19, where a Porsche Taycan, driven by a 17-year-old, collided with a motorcycle, claiming the lives of two individuals. Allegations surfaced that the underage driver's father, a prominent city builder, orchestrated a scheme to manipulate the blood sample reports to absolve his son of any culpability.

Following their apprehension, a magisterial court remanded Dr. Taware, Dr. Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble into police custody until May 30, pending further inquiries.
