Prince Harry, Meghan Royal Title Reclaim Sparks Controversy

In a strategic move aimed at reconnecting with their audience, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have executed a subtle retreat and reclaimed their royal titles in a significant rebranding effort. After endorsing the Archwell brand for the past two years, the couple has decided to part ways with it, opting instead to launch a new website to foster a more direct connection with their supporters. The new website, formerly named Archwell, will now be referred to as sussex.com, named after the British town that bestows their royal titles.

Upon entering the website, visitors are greeted with the official title: "Office of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - Duke and Duchess of Sussex," reaffirming their connection to their royal lineage. Notably, despite their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family in 2020, their bios on the website continue to refer to their two children as "Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

Meghan Markle, in her updated bio as The Duchess of Sussex, explains that the rebranding signifies their commitment to sharing more personal updates with their fans. She emphasizes the continuation of their lifelong advocacy for women and girls, citing it as a consistent thread in their humanitarian and business ventures. Meghan underscores her dedication to feminist ideals and gender equity.

Prince Harry, titled The Duke of Sussex in his updated bio, echoes this sentiment. He emphasizes his adult life's dedication to causes that bring about lasting change, specifically highlighting the global impact of the Invictus Games Foundation, a celebrated event showcasing resilience, community, and athleticism among wounded service personnel.

Interestingly, Prince Harry's bio lacks mention of his royal lineage and the United Kingdom, a notable omission.

According to the statements issued, the couple, by embracing "The Office of Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke & Duchess of Sussex," aims to showcase their individual passions and endeavors, asserting their identities beyond traditional royal responsibilities.

However, not all reactions have been positive. Netizens have quickly rebuked the couple, criticizing the move as a Hollywood failure and an attempt to trade off their royal titles amid perceived shortcomings in various business ventures. Some express disappointment, calling for the removal of their titles. The public reaction highlights the polarizing nature of the couple's decisions and the ongoing scrutiny they face.
