Presight, MMAI Partner to Boost Malaysia’s AI and Digital Future

Presight, a well-known artificial intelligence (AI) and big data company from the UAE, has signed a major agreement with Malaysia Madani Artificial Intelligence (MMAI Technologies SDN. BHD.), a company owned fully by the Malaysian Government. This new partnership aims to help Malaysia grow faster in the digital world.

The two sides will work together on projects that use advanced AI and secure cloud systems to make Malaysia safer, improve how the government works, and support smarter decision-making with the help of data.

This big agreement was officially announced at the ASEAN-GCC Economic Forum 2025. It is a very important step for AI teamwork between Malaysia and the UAE. It is also Presight’s first big project in Southeast Asia.

The signing happened in front of top leaders, including Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao.

As part of this partnership, both Presight and MMAI will work on building special cloud systems for Malaysia. These systems will help with national safety, public security, and improving government services. They will also develop new AI tools to help with this digital change.

Malaysia’s Home Minister, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, said this partnership is important because the UAE has already made big progress in using AI. He said Malaysia can learn a lot from the UAE, and Presight’s experience will be a great help. He also said this deal will support the “Malaysia Madani” vision, which aims to make the country more advanced and independent when it comes to technology.

Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, said this agreement shows how AI can bring real changes to a country. He said they are happy to help Malaysia become a modern, AI-powered nation. He also said this work will help improve many areas, from secure systems to data and analytics that will support important Malaysian departments.

He praised the Malaysian government for taking steps to use AI for economic growth and national development.

This deal also supports Malaysia’s MADANI economic plan, which was launched in July 2023 by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This plan is about growing the economy in a fair, smart, and sustainable way. MMAI is one of the key players in carrying out this plan using AI.

This latest announcement follows an earlier agreement signed in January 2025 in Abu Dhabi. That event was attended by UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The goal of that earlier deal was also to work together on AI to improve safety and government work.

This partnership also connects with a bigger agreement between the UAE and Malaysia called the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was signed in October 2024. Trade between the two countries (not including oil) reached $2.5 billion in the first half of 2024, showing how strong the relationship is becoming.

During the ASEAN-GCC Forum, Presight’s CEO also joined a panel discussion called "AI Impact Across Industries." He shared how AI is helping many industries around the world by bringing real, useful changes.
