President Droupadi Murmu engaged in comprehensive discussions with Mauritian President Prithvirajsing Roopun during her three-day state visit. The visit, coinciding with Mauritius's National Day celebrations, included the presentation of a RuPay card, recently launched in Mauritius, as a diplomatic gift. The leaders emphasized strengthening the longstanding India-Mauritius relationship across various sectors.
President Murmu's warm meeting with President Roopun at the Presidential State House focused on enhancing bilateral ties through capacity building, science & technology collaboration, and joint developmental projects. The discussions highlighted the solid foundation of kinship, culture, and robust people-to-people linkages between the two nations.
During her visit, President Murmu expressed appreciation for the Ayurvedic Garden established at the State House in collaboration with India's AYUSH ministry. This underscores the significance of traditional medicine as a key area of partnership.

A moment of solemn homage took place at the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, where President Murmu paid respects to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth, acknowledging their contributions to the enduring ties between India and Mauritius
The state visit, marked by Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth's warm reception, also involves bilateral meetings with key Mauritian leaders, including the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
As part of the National Day celebrations, President Murmu witnessed the participation of the Indian Navy contingent and the presence of INS Tir and CGS Sarathi. Additionally, she and Prime Minister Jugnauth jointly inaugurated 14 India-assisted projects, showcasing the diverse nature of the development partnership.
The visit underscores the profound and enduring ties between India and Mauritius, with a commitment to strengthening relations across all sectors and fostering close people-to-people connections. It symbolizes a key pillar in the bilateral relationship, with a focus on cooperation, collaboration, and mutual growth.
