The Israeli military reported a significant escalation in its operations in northern Gaza, with troops capturing around 100 suspected Hamas militants during a raid at Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp. This action comes amid claims from Hamas and medical officials denying any militant presence at the hospital.
Israeli forces pushed deeper into two towns and the Jabalia camp on Monday, effectively trapping around 100,000 civilians, according to the Palestinian emergency service. They indicated that the ongoing operations were aimed at eliminating regrouping Hamas militants. The Gaza Strip's health ministry reported that Israeli airstrikes on the same day resulted in at least 19 fatalities, 13 of whom were from northern Gaza.
The Palestinian Civil Emergency Service highlighted the dire situation, stating that approximately 100,000 people were stranded in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Hanoun without access to medical supplies or food. Due to the three-week Israeli assault, emergency operations in these areas have effectively ceased.
In a related diplomatic effort, talks led by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar resumed on Sunday, aiming to broker a ceasefire after multiple unsuccessful attempts. Egypt's president proposed a temporary two-day truce to exchange four Israeli hostages held by Hamas for several Palestinian prisoners, with hopes of discussing a more permanent ceasefire within ten days.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the recent negotiations in Doha aimed to develop a new framework considering previous proposals and current regional dynamics. He noted that mediators would reconvene shortly to continue these discussions but did not provide further details on the specific terms being discussed.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel's military campaign would persist until Hamas is fully dismantled, while the Islamist group has declared that hostilities will continue until Israeli forces withdraw from Gaza.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has heightened tensions across the Middle East, raising fears about global oil supplies. In addition to operations in Gaza, Israel has targeted missile production sites in Iran following an Iranian missile strike aimed at Israel. Iran's Foreign Ministry responded by asserting its intention to retaliate against Israel's weekend attacks.
In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes continued on Monday, including a targeted strike in the southern port city of Tyre, resulting in seven deaths, as reported by the Lebanese health ministry. The Israeli military also issued evacuation orders for large areas of Tyre, including neighborhoods not previously subject to evacuation, as part of its campaign against Hezbollah.
Hezbollah has intensified its attacks on Israeli forces, with the group claiming responsibility for strikes on military targets in Israel, including a facility in the vicinity of Acre, though there were no reports of casualties.
The humanitarian situation in northern Gaza remains critical, with major hospitals struggling to operate under constant bombardment and severe shortages of medical supplies. Reports indicate that several medical professionals and patients have died in recent days due to a lack of treatment.
Residents in the besieged areas reported Israeli forces encircling shelters and schools where displaced families sought refuge, leading many to fear for their safety. Amid this turmoil, some families have taken the grim step of preparing their death notices, reflecting the overwhelming sense of dread in the face of relentless airstrikes.
As the situation escalates, the Israeli military maintains that its operations adhere to international law, accusing Hamas of using civilian structures, including hospitals and schools, as shields for their operations. The conflict continues to evolve, with Hamas remaining active in conducting hit-and-run attacks against Israeli forces, despite the ongoing military offensive.
Since the beginning of the latest conflict following Hamas's cross-border assault on October 7, Israeli officials estimate that around 1,200 individuals have been killed, with over 250 hostages taken into Gaza. In contrast, the Gaza health ministry reported a staggering death toll of over 43,000 in the ongoing military response.
