Four Pakistani workers who were severely injured in a devastating factory fire that erupted in Ajman are now on the path to recovery after undergoing extensive and life-saving treatment at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

Initially admitted to local hospitals, these men, including Gul Dad Dahri, Imam Bux Solangi, Nawab Shahnawaz, and Muhammad Akram Khan, faced grim prospects as doctors assessed the severity of their burns. With injuries covering significant portions of their bodies, they were placed in induced comas as medical experts braced for an arduous battle to save their lives.

The journey towards recovery has been marked by a series of complex surgeries and months of intensive rehabilitation. Mr. Solangi, who suffered burns over 90% of his body, expressed his eagerness to return to his family in Pakistan while also harboring hopes of coming back to the UAE to continue supporting them financially.

Similarly, Mr. Dahri, a father of two, recounted the harrowing experience of being caught in the flames while inspecting sanitizer bottles. With burns covering 63% of his body, he remains reliant on a wheelchair as he continues his recovery journey.

Dr. Simon Myers, a distinguished plastic surgery professor overseeing their treatment, detailed the intricate surgical procedures required to address their injuries. Praising the dedication and expertise of the medical team, he emphasized the pivotal role they played in ensuring the patients' survival against daunting odds.

Zaskia Ezendam, a senior occupational therapist, shed light on the ongoing challenges faced by the patients as they navigate the road to recovery. Intensive physiotherapy and round-the-clock support are essential elements of their rehabilitation process, aimed at restoring mobility and function lost due to their injuries.

Biji Varghese, a charge nurse at the hospital, underscored the tireless efforts of the nursing staff in providing comprehensive care to the patients. From managing fluid and blood replacements to facilitating mobility and recovery, their unwavering commitment has been instrumental in the patients' progress.

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, renowned for its excellence in treating complex cases such as severe burn injuries, stands as a beacon of hope for patients grappling with life-threatening conditions.

As the patients prepare to embark on the next phase of their journey, Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, visited them at the medical facility. Expressing admiration for the medical staff's dedication, he conveyed his heartfelt wishes for their continued recovery as they prepare to return home to Pakistan, where their families eagerly await their arrival.
