Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher has received international praise after winning the Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award at the 2025 World Police Summit held in Dubai. The award was presented by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, who is the head of Dubai Police, during a grand ceremony attended by officers and security experts from over 90 different countries.
Anum Khan is working as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and is currently posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer at the Sargodha City Police Station in Punjab, Pakistan. She stood out among more than 900 entries from all over the world due to her excellent work and fast action in solving two serious murder cases in Punjab.
In the first case, a young 12-year-old girl named Ayesha Bibi, who worked as a domestic helper, was found murdered in a brutal way. Under Anum Khan’s direct leadership, the police team was able to catch the people responsible within just 72 hours. This quick action was appreciated by the public and senior officials, including the Chief Minister of Punjab.

The second case involved the murder of a young man named Mohsin. Once again, Anum Khan took charge and made sure the suspects were arrested within 24 hours. These two important cases showed her skills, her deep understanding of police work, and her strong will to deliver justice. For her efforts, she had already been praised by the Punjab Police leadership even before winning this international honor.
While speaking at the summit, Anum Khan said that the award was not just for her but for all of Pakistan Police, especially the Punjab Police. She said it shows the world that Pakistani police officers are committed to justice and follow the highest standards. She also said that this award is a result of the hard work and honesty shown by her team.
Her win has also become a proud moment for women in Pakistan’s police force. It shows how women are becoming strong and respected leaders in police work, both in Pakistan and around the world. Anum Khan’s success sends a strong message that female officers in Pakistan are smart, capable, and ready to take on big responsibilities.
The World Police Summit is one of the most respected global events that honors bravery, leadership, and excellence in police work. This year’s event was its fourth edition. Other winners included Dr Mariam Darwish Al Hashmi from Fujairah Police, who was named Most Inspirational Female Officer, and the Hyderabad Police from India, who were honored for their work against drug crimes.
Lieutenant General Al Marri praised the quality of this year’s entries and said the summit is helping build stronger ties between police forces from all over the world.
