Over 21,000 Violators of Residence, Labor, and Border Laws Detained in One Week

The Ministry of Interior conducted extensive inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom from October 24 to October 30 to enforce compliance with residency, labor, and border security laws. These efforts resulted in the identification of significant violations across various categories.

During this week-long operation, a total of **21,370 violations** were recorded. Of these, **12,274** were related to residency laws, **5,684** pertained to border security, and **3,412** involved labor law infractions. The inspections highlighted a serious issue with illegal border crossings, as **1,492 individuals** were caught attempting to enter the Kingdom unlawfully. Among those apprehended, **35% were Yemeni**, **61% were Ethiopian**, and the remaining **4% represented other nationalities**. In addition, **34 individuals** were arrested for trying to exit the Kingdom illegally.

Authorities also took action against individuals facilitating these violations. **Fifteen people** were arrested for their involvement in transporting, sheltering, or employing those who were in violation of the law. Currently, **17,543 expatriates**, including **15,317 men** and **2,226 women**, are undergoing procedures to enforce compliance with regulations.

As part of the enforcement measures, **10,411** individuals were detained for various legal infractions. They were instructed to contact their respective embassies or consulates to secure proper travel documentation. Additionally, **2,439** individuals were advised to arrange their travel bookings, while **12,196** individuals were successfully repatriated to their home countries.

The Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning regarding the severe consequences of facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom. Individuals who transport, shelter, or assist unlawful entrants could face penalties of up to **15 years in prison** and fines reaching **SAR 1 million**. Furthermore, vehicles used for transport and properties utilized for sheltering violators may be subject to confiscation.

The Ministry emphasized that such offenses are serious crimes that warrant immediate arrest. They encourage citizens and residents to report any violations by calling **911** in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and **999** or **996** in other areas of the Kingdom.

This comprehensive initiative underscores the Ministry's commitment to upholding the laws governing residency, labor, and border security within the Kingdom.
