Nursing staff in Rajasthan hospital raped Indian woman.

In a deeply troubling occurrence, a 24-year-old woman, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital located in Rajasthan's Alwar district, reportedly fell victim to a horrifying act of sexual assault allegedly perpetrated by a nursing assistant. The incident, which unfolded around 4 am, as reported by NDTV, saw the survivor recounting a harrowing ordeal wherein the accused purportedly administered an injection to render her unconscious when she attempted to raise an alarm. 

The victim, undergoing treatment for a lung infection, narrated her distressing experience upon regaining consciousness, prompted by a phone call from her husband. According to her statement to the media, the survivor described how a male member of the nursing staff entered the ICU during the night, drawing the curtains around her bed and engaging in inappropriate behavior. Despite her resistance, the assailant proceeded to inject her, inducing a state of unconsciousness.

Upon regaining awareness, the survivor attempted to vocalize her distress, only to face further intimidation from the perpetrator, who threatened her with another injection. Adding to the distressing scenario, the survivor recounted an attempt to seek assistance from a female nurse, which unfortunately resulted in additional threats rather than support.

In a brave move, upon her husband's arrival in the morning, the survivor disclosed the traumatic incident and promptly filed a complaint with the authorities. Subsequent police action led to the retrieval of CCTV footage from the ICU, capturing the perpetrator's movements and culminating in his arrest. Identified as Chirag Yadav, the accused has been detained for interrogation, with the CCTV footage corroborating his presence near the victim's bed and the act of obscuring it with curtains.

Amidst mounting public outrage and concerns for the survivor's well-being, an FIR (First Information Report) has been registered, signaling the initiation of a thorough investigation into the distressing incident. As authorities delve deeper into the matter, they are tasked with not only ensuring justice for the survivor but also scrutinizing the hospital's protocols and security measures to prevent such heinous acts from recurring.
