Nu Holdings Ltd. (NU) delivered a strong quarterly performance, posting earnings of $0.17 per share, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $0.15. The results mark a notable increase from $0.12 per share a year ago, reflecting solid growth in its core operations.
The earnings beat represents a 13.3% surprise, following a previous quarter where Nu modestly exceeded forecasts by 7.7%. Over the past year, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates in two of the last four quarters.
Revenue growth also impressed investors, with the fintech giant generating $4.17 billion in the quarter ended September 2025. This was 3.36% higher than the Zacks consensus estimate and up sharply from $2.94 billion recorded a year prior. Nu has exceeded revenue expectations twice in the last four quarters, signaling consistent top-line momentum.
Shares of Nu have responded strongly, rising roughly 56.2% year-to-date, well ahead of the S&P 500’s 16.5% gain. The stock’s upward trajectory reflects investor confidence in the company’s earnings growth and expanding market presence in the foreign banking sector.
Looking ahead, consensus estimates project EPS of $0.16 on revenues of $4.27 billion for the upcoming quarter, while full-year forecasts stand at $0.56 on $15.22 billion in revenues. The company’s earnings outlook, combined with favorable estimate revisions, underpins its Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), indicating potential near-term outperformance.
In the broader context, the Banks - Foreign industry, to which Nu belongs, ranks in the top 31% of over 250 sectors tracked by Zacks. Historical trends suggest that top-ranked industries tend to outperform the lower half, adding further confidence for investors tracking Nu’s performance.
Meanwhile, industry peer VersaBank (VBNK) has yet to release its quarterly results. The bank is expected to report earnings of $0.24 per share on $24.27 million in revenues, reflecting a mixed growth outlook compared with Nu.
With robust earnings and revenue growth already delivered, all eyes remain on the sustainability of Nu’s momentum and how future earnings revisions could shape the stock’s trajectory.
