Mohammad Shamroukh, the CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), said that the NTRA has agreed to allow an increase in the prices of telecommunications services in Egypt. This decision was announced during the Fifth Generation session at the Cairo ICT 2024 exhibition.

Shamroukh explained that the price rise is necessary because mobile companies are facing higher costs to run their services. He said that the NTRA understands that companies have the right to change their prices when needed.
The CEO also mentioned that the NTRA is studying the best time to make the price increase happen. They want to make sure the timing is good and that it considers what is best for consumers.
