Vanchha Garg, a General Manager (HR) at Times Now, encountered a terrifying ordeal while commuting to her workplace in Noida. The incident unfolded around 10 am on May 2 near Parthala Chowk, where Ms. Garg's car became ensnared in a traffic jam. Suddenly, her tranquility was shattered when two men approached her vehicle from different directions, sparking a distressing chain of events.
One of the men asserted that Ms. Garg had struck a child and implored her not to proceed, claiming the child was trapped beneath her car. Simultaneously, the other man began aggressively banging on her car window, accusing her of causing the alleged accident.

Feeling perplexed and alarmed by the accusation, Ms. Garg initially hesitated to engage with the men. However, her apprehension intensified when the first man offered assistance in relocating the car and rescuing the purportedly trapped child. In a state of panic and fear, Ms. Garg inadvertently lowered her window slightly to hear the man's instructions. Seizing the opportunity, the man swiftly inserted his hand into the car, prompting Ms. Garg to react in alarm and demand its removal.
As Ms. Garg attempted to raise the window, the man's hand became trapped, leading to a distressing situation. Sensing an opportunity, the other man intensified his efforts to distract Ms. Garg, exacerbating her sense of vulnerability. Amid the chaos, the perpetrators managed to steal Ms. Garg's valuable possession—a golden iPhone 14 pro—from her lunch basket.
Following the harrowing ordeal, Ms. Garg promptly reported the incident to the authorities, only to discover that the CCTV cameras in the vicinity were non-functional. Frustrated by the lack of assistance and accountability, Ms. Garg grappled with feelings of vulnerability and insecurity.
In a determined effort to retrieve her stolen phone and seek justice, Ms. Garg utilized the FindMy app, which pinpointed the device's location in Meerut. Despite the setback, she remained resolute in her pursuit of the perpetrators, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for their apprehension.
Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Ms. Garg underscored the broader societal implications, expressing concern over the potential escalation of such crimes. She emphasized the imperative of holding the culprits accountable to prevent further harm and restore a sense of safety and security for all individuals.
