Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has extended heartfelt condolences to India following the devastating blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed nine lives and left 20 injured. In a statement posted on X, Netanyahu emphasized the shared struggle of India and Israel against terrorism, highlighting the resilience of both nations.

“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India: Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength at this time,” Netanyahu wrote.

He added, “India and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies.”

The blast, attributed to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, was reportedly planned over several months, with multiple targets across Delhi and the National Capital Region, including Gurugram and Faridabad. Among the suspects in custody are three doctors—Shaheen Saeed, Muzammil Shakeel Ganale, and Adeel Rather—while Dr. Umar Nabi is believed to have been the suicide bomber.

Following Netanyahu’s message, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also expressed his condolences to the victims’ families, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured and reaffirming Israel’s support for India in combating terrorism.

Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar described the incident as “heartbreaking” and praised the efforts of rescuers and security forces. “Heartbreaking scenes in Delhi following the car blast, resulting in so many dead and injured. Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Wishing speedy recovery to those who survived. Praise for the rescuers & security forces,” he posted on X.

The expressions of solidarity from Israel underline the strong diplomatic ties and shared security concerns between the two nations, emphasizing a united front against global terrorism.
