NEOM backs Liberation Labs for food tech in Saudi Arabia

NEOM’s money group, called NEOM Investment Fund (NIF), has put money into a company called Liberation Labs. This company is from another country and makes food in a new and smart way, without needing animals. The two will now work together to build a special food-making factory in Saudi Arabia. This factory will help NEOM’s food company, Topian.

Liberation Labs builds places that make food ingredients using a clean and careful process. This way of making food is better for the Earth and can be done on a big scale. It also helps make healthy food without using meat from animals.

The head of NIF, Majid Mufti, said this is an important step for NEOM. He said NEOM wants to become a big name in the world for clean and smart food-making. He also said that Liberation Labs has good skills, and working together will help make better food systems in the future.

Mark Warner, who started Liberation Labs, said this will be their first project in the Middle East. He said they are happy to work with NEOM and Topian. He believes they can make the future of food better together.

Dr. Juan Carlos Motamayor, who leads Topian, said that food systems need to change to help feed more people and deal with weather problems. He said this new factory will make important food parts and healthy proteins in a fast and clean way. This will also help Saudi Arabia buy less food from outside and make its own food.
