Nakheel, a key player in Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded an AED 810 million contract to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD for marine works at Palm Jebel Ali. As part of the globally recognized Jan De Nul Group, the company will undertake essential tasks including dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement. These efforts are critical for the development of villas across all fronds of the project.

Jan De Nul Dredging has already commenced mobilization activities and is expected to complete the marine works in just over two years. The first eight fronds are anticipated to be ready by early 2025, paving the way for the start of villa infrastructure and civil construction.

In addition to this marine contract, Nakheel has recently awarded two major infrastructure contracts. Construction has begun on a new public access road from Sheikh Zayed Road to Palm Jebel Ali, alongside enhancements to existing roadways and lighting to improve connectivity from the mainland.

Palm Jebel Ali, unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, promises an array of luxury amenities for residents, families, and visitors. This project aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and marks the beginning of a significant growth corridor in the Jebel Ali area, highlighting Dubai's expansion.

Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Jan De Nul Dredging. "This collaboration underscores our commitment to excellence and innovation. As Nakheel ramps up its development under Dubai Holding, Jan De Nul Dredging’s expertise in marine, civil construction, and environmental projects is crucial. Palm Jebel Ali, aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, is set to become a premier global destination offering a luxurious waterfront lifestyle with expansive beaches and pristine waters, while setting new standards in quality living and sustainability."

Last year, Palm Jebel Ali launched over 700 units in its Phase 1 frond villas, showcasing eight distinctive styles that merge indoor and outdoor living in a tranquil coastal environment. The ongoing progress in infrastructure and marine works supports the scheduled handover of these homes by late 2026. The island will ultimately span 13.4 kilometers, featuring 16 fronds and 91 kilometers of beachfront, supporting the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan’s objective of expanding public beach access.

Nakheel’s portfolio of projects remains central to realizing Dubai’s vision, with Palm Jebel Ali standing as a key development in the emirate’s ambitious plans
