Mohammed bin Rashid Visits Gulfood 2025, Marking the Largest Edition in Event's History

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited Gulfood 2025 today, marking the event’s largest edition ever. This year’s Gulfood edition features 4,595 exhibitors from 106 countries, showcasing over a million products. The event is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 17-21, under the theme "The Next Frontier in Food."

During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed praised the growth of Gulfood over the years. He noted that this year’s edition is the biggest in its history, bringing together leading companies from around the world. The event is a key platform for businesses in the food and beverage industry to connect, make deals, and explore new ideas and opportunities. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized how important such events are for promoting partnerships and driving innovations, especially in the critical area of food security and sustainable development.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s role in supporting global efforts to find new solutions for the food sector. He stressed that the UAE remains dedicated to being a hub for building partnerships and exchanging knowledge to meet the world’s current needs and prepare for a better future. Dubai continues to be a place where ideas come together to solve global challenges and improve life for everyone.

He also pointed out that events like Gulfood play an important role in helping Dubai achieve its economic goals. Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 aims to double foreign trade and add 400 cities as key trading partners by 2033. Major exhibitions held in Dubai provide great opportunities to share ideas, discover new business opportunities, and build partnerships with companies worldwide.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, toured the exhibition, which covers almost one million square feet across 24 halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Sheikh Mohammed visited booths of various national companies, recognizing their importance in supporting the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051.

He visited pavilions and stands of local and GCC companies like Farzana and MGM, learning about their products and operations. The tour was attended by several key officials, including His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; and His Excellency Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality.

This year’s Gulfood is focusing on strengthening trade relationships in the food and beverage manufacturing sector, with an emphasis on connecting businesses across continents, including Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The event highlights the growing importance of global trade and partnerships in the food industry.
