In a significant move to enhance electronic security in Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. (62) of 2024. This decree establishes the Board of Directors for the Dubai Electronic Security Center, underscoring the importance of safeguarding digital infrastructure in the emirate.
The newly appointed Board will be chaired by Awad Hader Al Muhairi, who brings considerable expertise to the role. Supporting him as Vice Chairman is Tamim Mohammed Al Muhairi, who will work alongside a diverse team of members that includes Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Tariq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Saeed Al Muhairi, Ayesha Al Wari, and the CEO of the Dubai Electronic Security Center.

The decree stipulates that the board is tasked with guiding and overseeing the strategic direction of the center, ensuring that Dubai remains at the forefront of cybersecurity and electronic governance. This initiative aligns with Dubai's broader goals of enhancing its digital landscape and protecting its information infrastructure.
The decree is effective immediately upon issuance and will be officially published in the Official Gazette, making it a formal component of the regulatory framework governing electronic security in the region. This initiative is part of Dubai's ongoing commitment to fostering a secure digital environment that promotes innovation and protects its residents and businesses from emerging cyber threats.
