Mohammed bin Rashid Issues Decree Appointing New Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Board

In a significant administrative move, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. (55) of 2024 concerning the Board of Directors of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority (DMCC). This decree emphasizes the strategic direction and governance of one of the region’s leading commodities trading hubs.

The newly appointed Chairman of the Board is Hamad Mubarak Buamim, a prominent figure recognized for his extensive experience in the commodities sector and his leadership capabilities. Supporting him in the governance structure is Abdul Wahed Abdul Rahim Al Olama, who has been designated as the Vice Chairman of the Board, reflecting a commitment to effective leadership within the organization.

The Board will also comprise several distinguished members, including Abdullah Saif Al Shamsi, Charles George Webb, May Nasrallah Mirvel, and Thierry Jean Louis Gimonnet. Notably, the CEO of DMCC will also serve as a member of the Board, ensuring that executive leadership is integrated into the governance process.

The Decree is effective immediately from the date of its issuance and will be formally published in the Official Gazette, underscoring the transparency and official recognition of these appointments. This move is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the DMCC, fostering a conducive environment for growth in Dubai’s vibrant commodities market.
