The Mohammed Bin Rashid Falconry Cup concluded with the highly anticipated ‘Elite and Cup’ races, showcasing some of the most exciting and competitive contests of the tournament. Organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center at its dedicated facility in Al Habbab, the event saw strong participation from falconers across the UAE and the wider region. With a total prize pool of over AED23 million, the competition treated spectators to thrilling races and impressive performances.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum crowned the top three winners in the six elite races. The elite falconers brought their best birds to the competition, with over 200 falcons competing for top honors. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including His Excellency Fares Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Adviser at the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Falconers’ Club; His Excellency Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait; His Excellency Rashid Mubarak Al Murkhan Al Ketbi, Vice President of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center and Secretary-General of the UAE Falconry Federation; Rashid Harib Al Khousouni, Director of the Fazza Championship Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center; and Dhamithan bin Suwaidan, Head of the Organizing Committee for the Championship.

The competition reached its peak with the prestigious ‘Cup’ races, each offering prizes worth AED1 million. These included the Sheikh’s Cup and the Open Cup, designed for owners fielding young falcons.
In the Sheikh’s Cup for young falcons, the Al Nif team took first place with their falcon Helman, which clocked 18.409 seconds and earned a prize of AED500,000. The M7 team secured second and third place, with falcon S 359 recording 18.448 seconds to win AED300,000, while falcon Al Mehlal finished in 18.468 seconds to claim AED200,000.
The Open Cup for young falcons saw Ghadir bin Ghadir Al Ketbi emerge victorious with his falcon Limitid, which finished in 18.153 seconds. The second and third places went to Abdullah Khalfan Al Qubaisi, whose falcons 281 and Hacker finished in 18.202 and 18.388 seconds, respectively.
In the Owners’ Open Cup, Mubarak Matar Al Khaili’s falcon 11 secured first place with a time of 18.491 seconds. Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Kendi’s falcon Al Muheet took second place, clocking 18.529 seconds, while Khalifa Sultan Al Haffari’s falcon Hab Reeh finished in 18.650 seconds to claim third place.
Elite Races
The Elite races featured a total prize pool of AED1.35 million. In the Elite Sheikh’s Gyrfalcon Race, the M7 team dominated, securing first and second place. Falcon Ramah won the race with a time of 14.529 seconds, followed by falcon T 139, which clocked 14.997 seconds. The third place went to the F3S team, with falcon B 64 finishing in 15.024 seconds.
In the Elite Open Gyrfalcon Race, the Dubai team excelled, with their falcon Tajouri winning with a time of 14.929 seconds. The second place went to Abdullah Khalfan Al Qubaisi’s falcon 18, which finished in 15.186 seconds, while Hamid Mohammed Al Tayir’s falcon Bayan claimed third place with a time of 15.238 seconds.
The Elite Owners’ Gyrfalcon Race saw Rashid Suhail Al Marri’s falcon Nashmi take first place with a time of 15.377 seconds. Ghadir Mohammed Al Mansoori’s falcon Iqab secured second place, finishing in 15.446 seconds, while Jumaa Abdullah Al Falahi’s falcon T 4 came in third at 15.618 seconds.

His Excellency Rashid Mubarak Al Murkhan Al Ketbi, Vice President of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center and Secretary-General of the UAE Falconry Federation, praised the Mohammed Bin Rashid Falconry Cup for its prestigious status and success in preserving and promoting the heritage sport of falconry. He noted that the event continues to inspire participants from around the world, encouraging excellence in a sport deeply rooted in UAE history and traditions.
HE Al Ketbi also highlighted the strong support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the sport. He emphasized that the leadership’s commitment to falconry has helped elevate the level of competition, making the UAE a global hub for this traditional sport. The continued support from the leadership has driven remarkable achievements in falconry, both locally and internationally, solidifying its place as a cherished part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
