His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, participated in the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit. This event, the largest of its kind, is dedicated to the growing content creator economy and took place in Dubai.

Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, the three-day summit was held at Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future. With the theme “Content for Good,” the event aimed to highlight the positive impact of content creation and its role in society. The summit attracted over 15,000 content creators and featured more than 420 speakers, including influential personalities and global experts.

During the event, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed expressed the importance of content creation in building awareness, sharing culture, and advancing human progress. His Highness said, “The 1 Billion Followers Summit is dedicated to building a strong economy driven by creative content.  Sheikh Mohammed visited the pavilions of major social media platforms participating in the summit. For the first time, leading platforms such as Snapchat, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Meta (including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) gathered under one roof to showcase their visions and strategies for the future of content creation.

His Highness also reviewed the work of the judging panel for the One Billion Pitches competition. This competition encourages startups and creators to present new ideas with a positive impact on society. Sheikh Mohammed received a detailed briefing on how the applications were evaluated.

Sheikh Mohammed was joined by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Gergawi; and other senior officials.

Mohammad Al Gergawi highlighted that under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai has established itself as a global hub for the creative industry. He emphasised the UAE’s efforts to attract talent, support innovation, and advance the growing content economy, which is valued at $250 billion globally.

The summit brought together 10 investment funds worth a total of AED 50 million to support content creators. Companies participating in the event manage assets valued between $7 and $8 billion. More than 500 applications from 40 countries were received for the One Billion Pitches competition, which will provide funding of AED 50 million to groundbreaking projects.

The summit’s grand prize, the One Billion Award valued at $1 million, is the largest recognition for content creators globally. The finalists were shortlisted through public voting, which attracted 3.3 million votes from around the world. The winner will be announced on the final day of the event, marking a key milestone in celebrating the achievements of the content creation community.

Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a leading hub for creativity and innovation, empowering creators to shape the future of the content industry and drive positive change worldwide.
