In a disturbing incident captured on video, Jonathan Kaye, a managing director at Moelis & Co., made headlines after allegedly assaulting a woman at a Brooklyn Pride event in Park Slope. The footage circulating on social media platforms reveals Kaye punching the woman's face, resulting in her collapse amidst a gathered crowd.

The video, shared on the X platform, lacks context regarding the events preceding the violent altercation. However, it depicts Kaye walking away from the scene with a visibly distressed demeanor and stains on his jacket, possibly from a liquid thrown at him.

Amidst the chaos, witnesses heard Kaye exclaiming, "She f****ng threw s**t at me," while onlookers condemned his actions, labeling him as an "a**hole" and a "horrible person." According to accompanying text in the video, the altercation left the woman with a broken nose and her friend with an injured arm.

Responding to the viral video, Moelis & Co. issued a statement to Bloomberg, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. The company stated, "We have become aware that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8. We take this matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation."

Jonathan Kaye, who has been associated with Moelis & Co. since 2013, holding a prominent position overseeing the Global Business Services franchise, previously served as managing director of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group at CitiBank.

This incident echoes previous instances of violence in New York. Notably, Skiboky Stora, a New York City resident, faced hate crime charges for alleged assaults, stalking, and harassment incidents targeting victims based on race, religion, and gender. One victim shared a video of her assault on social media, gaining national attention.

Stora allegedly elbowed her, causing bruising and swelling. Other victims included a 17-year-old student and a 37-year-old woman. Stora also allegedly harassed a young Jewish couple. He was arrested in March, arraigned in New York, and granted permission to represent himself, claiming the charges were retaliatory due to a lawsuit against NYC Mayor Eric Adams. He was scheduled to return to court in August.
