Meghan & Harry Foundation Deny Wrongdoing And 'Delinquency' Allegations

Archewell Foundation, founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has recently been embroiled in a controversy regarding a "delinquency notice" from the California State Attorney General's office. This notice, received on May 3, highlighted the foundation's failure to pay a $200 annual filing fee after it expired in May 2023.

As a consequence, Archewell Foundation was deemed delinquent, preventing it from engaging in activities such as soliciting or disbursing charitable funds until the issue was resolved. However, a spokesperson for the foundation confirmed in a statement to HindustanTimes.com that despite these challenges, Archewell remains "fully compliant and in good standing."

According to records, the foundation did make the required payment of $200, which was duly "postmarked and dispatched." However, it appears that this payment was not received by the relevant authorities. Attorney General Rob Bonta's office has since clarified that the foundation is no longer considered delinquent.

In response to the issue, the foundation's spokesperson emphasized that all necessary paperwork had been filed without error or wrongdoing, and payments were made promptly in accordance with IRS processes and procedures.
