Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the inaugural edition of the School Games witnessed 772 students clinching top honors across diverse categories. Held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City Dubai, the event was graced by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
Organized by the UAE School and Sports Federation in collaboration with the General Authority of Sports (GAS), along with several sports federations and federal and local authorities, the tournament garnered participation from 2,500 students representing 350 schools nationwide. Etisalat E& sponsored the event as the gold sponsor, highlighting its commitment to fostering youth sports development.

During the closing ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed lauded the inaugural Games' success and the commendable performances of budding athletes. He stressed the importance of nurturing young talent within schools, emphasizing that a robust sports system begins with early identification and encouragement of potential athletes.
Furthermore, Sheikh Ahmed underscored the School Games' role in supporting the Olympic movement by early discovery and support of promising talents, aligning with the National Olympic Committee's mission to cultivate a sustainable sports ecosystem for global triumphs.
The ceremony, attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the General Authority of Sports, saw the felicitation of 772 male and female students who secured the top three positions across various categories, out of a total of 1,840 competitors.
Structured as a multi-sport event catering to students aged 13 to 17, the School Games encompassed specialized training programs followed by regional competitions in each emirate, culminating in national-level contests. This comprehensive approach aims to promote active participation in sports among school students from an early age, fostering Emirati talent development and enhancing the nation's sporting presence on the global stage.
Operating under the auspices of the General Authority of Sports, the School Games epitomize a collaborative endeavor involving educational institutions, sports federations, and regulatory bodies, with the overarching goal of encouraging broader sports engagement, nurturing budding athletes, and elevating the UAE's stature in regional, continental, and global sporting arenas.
