At 50, Malaika Arora continues to inspire millions with her amazing fitness and energy. Known for her love of yoga, Pilates, and strength training, the Bollywood star believes in staying strong and active through simple, daily workouts. Recently, she shared an Instagram video showing five dumbbell exercises that anyone can try at home to tone their arms and strengthen their core.
Malaika wrote, “Did you know? These 5 dumbbell moves can tone your arms and fire up your core in minutes.” Her routine is short, effective, and perfect for beginners or anyone looking to build strength without heavy equipment. Let’s take a closer look at these five exercises she demonstrated.
1. Lateral Side Raise
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding dumbbells in both hands. Bend slightly forward at your waist and lift the weights out to your sides. Squeeze your shoulder blades together, then lower the weights slowly. This move strengthens your shoulders and upper back while improving posture.
2. Standing Shoulder Press
Hold a dumbbell in each hand and bring them to shoulder height. Keep your core tight and palms facing forward. Push the dumbbells upward until your arms are straight above your head, then slowly bring them down. This exercise works your shoulders, upper arms, and strengthens your core muscles.
3. Bicep Curls
Stand tall with dumbbells in your hands and arms by your sides. Bend your elbows to lift the weights toward your shoulders, keeping your elbows close to your body. Slowly lower them back down. Bicep curls help build strong, toned upper arms and improve grip strength.
4. Kettlebell Swing
If you have a kettlebell, hold it with both hands. Keep your knees slightly bent and swing the kettlebell between your legs and up to chest level. Keep your back straight and use your hips to create the motion. This exercise builds strength in your legs, arms, and core while improving balance.
5. Triceps Overhead Extension
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold one dumbbell with both hands above your head. Slowly bend your elbows to lower the dumbbell behind your head, then raise it back up. This move targets your triceps—the muscles at the back of your arms—helping them look more toned.
Fitness Made Simple
Malaika’s fitness routine shows that you don’t need a gym to stay fit. With just a pair of dumbbells and a few minutes each day, you can build strength and flexibility. These five moves work multiple muscle groups, making them great for toning your arms, improving posture, and keeping your core strong.
She reminds her followers that fitness is not about perfection—it’s about consistency. Even a short, focused workout can make you feel more energetic and confident.
