The family of 22-year-old Riley Strain from Missouri is making a heartfelt plea to the public for assistance following his disappearance in Nashville on Friday, March 8. Strain vanished after being ejected from Luke’s 32 Bridge, a popular establishment in Music City, where he had been attending a fraternity conference with his Delta Chi brothers. Concern escalated when Strain's friend discovered he was not at their hotel the following day, prompting his family to take action. His father, Ryan Gilbert, described the situation as a parent's worst nightmare.
According to Strain's stepfather, Chris Whiteid, the bartender at Luke Bryan's bar decided to cut off the University of Missouri student due to overconsumption. Security escorted Strain out, but his friend was initially prevented from leaving with him. When the friend eventually exited the premises, Strain was nowhere to be found. Despite a phone call from another friend reassuring them that Strain was en route to the hotel, subsequent attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. Notably, Strain had contacted his mother, Michelle Whiteid, via Facetime a couple of hours before his disappearance to share a glimpse of his night out.
Efforts to locate Strain by the Metro Nashville Police Department, including checks at hospitals and jails, have yielded no leads. However, authorities released surveillance footage capturing Strain's movements in downtown Nashville on the night of his disappearance. Another video from a nearby establishment shows him appearing disoriented near Church Street. In response, TC Restaurant Group, the operator of Luke’s 32 Bridge, has collaborated with law enforcement, providing security footage and any relevant information to aid in the search. The group expressed solidarity with Strain's family, hoping for his safe return.
As the search for Strain continues, his family remains hopeful for a resolution to this distressing ordeal. The community's support and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement underscore the urgency of finding Strain and bringing him back to safety.
