From the start, Barcelona controlled the game. Raphinha scored the first goal in the 25th minute with a great shot. Dortmund’s goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel, made several important saves and kept Barcelona from scoring more goals in the first half.
After the break, Barcelona came out even stronger. Just three minutes into the second half, Raphinha set up Lewandowski, who scored with a header from close range to make it 2-0.
Lewandowski scored again in the 66th minute, this time with a shot from inside the box, making it 3-0. Lamine Yamal then finished off the game with a fourth goal in the 77th minute, sealing the big win.
Even though Barcelona had a big lead, their manager, Hansi Flick, was careful not to say that they were already through to the next round. He reminded everyone that the second leg in Germany was still to come and anything could happen. "We are not qualified yet! You never know what can happen because football is a crazy sport," Flick said after the game.
Flick also said that Barcelona needed to play just as well in the second leg. "To go through, we have to play in Dortmund the same way we did today, without mistakes," he said. "When you play well like that, you score goals."
Flick also praised Lewandowski, Yamal, and Raphinha for their good performances, but said the whole team did well, including the players who came off the bench. "Our depth is very important, especially at this time in the season. The players on the bench can make a difference quickly," he added.
While Flick was happy with the result, he said there were still things to improve. "We played really well, but we made a few mistakes. Dortmund has fast players, but we defended well. I’m happy with how we played."
Barcelona now has a strong lead going into the second leg, but Flick reminded everyone that the tie is far from over.
