The talk, titled How I Raised Three Amazing Children, Including the Richest Man in the World, was part of the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit. The summit, focused on the content creator economy, was organized by the UAE Government Media Office and held from January 11 to 13, 2025. Events were hosted across key venues in Dubai, including Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. Under the theme Content for Good, the summit brought together over 15,000 influencers and creators, along with 420 speakers, 125 CEOs, and experts from around the globe.
Maye Musk highlighted the role of social media in helping professionals, especially in fields like medicine, to showcase their work. She said:
“I used to give talks to medical professionals, encouraging them to promote their work. I always told them to share their expertise without coming across as boastful. Let people know you’re relevant.”
When asked for advice for content creators, she said:
“Show your work to the world. If you don’t enjoy what you do, make a change and let others see it. Staying relevant is key.”
Musk also shared the challenges and efforts behind her children’s success. She spoke about raising Elon, Kimbal, and Toska as a single mother, managing her career, and moving to different cities and countries. She explained how they faced challenges together, saying:
“My kids were part of everything. Elon was like my personal encyclopaedia and tech support, Kimbal took care of meals, and Toska helped with office work.”
Musk also mentioned how her children learned to work hard from an early age. They applied for student loans to fund their studies and repaid them after graduation. She emphasized:
“I always encouraged them to follow their passions. They never focused on earning money but on doing good and excelling in what they loved.”
Speaking about Elon Musk’s vision for the platform X (formerly Twitter), she explained:
“Elon’s goal has always been to make things better and more open. He never works to compete but to help. Everything he does is about creating solutions, from early innovations like Zip2 to launching satellites to save lives in remote areas.”
She concluded by saying:
“He has a vision for the future and focuses on meeting needs wherever he sees them. That’s his driving force in everything he does.”
