Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, presented the prestigious ‘One Billion Award’ to Simon Squibb, a content creator from the UK. The award was given during the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event focused on the content creator economy.
The award, worth $1 million, is the biggest recognition for content creators worldwide. It aims to inspire creators to make meaningful content that drives positive social change. The goal is to encourage people to work for a better future, promote kindness and understanding, and build stronger connections within society.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit, organized by the UAE Government Media Office, took place from January 11 to 13 at famous Dubai venues like Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. With the theme ‘Content for Good,’ the event brought together more than 15,000 content creators, 420 speakers, and 125 CEOs and global experts.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa emphasized that the award reflects the UAE’s dedication, under the guidance of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to support creative minds and innovators. She stressed the UAE’s commitment to empowering content creators and helping them share their impactful messages worldwide.
Her Highness said, “Positive and meaningful content has the power to bring change, inspire people, and create fresh ideas. We are proud to host such unique initiatives that encourage creators to think big and make a lasting difference for people everywhere.”
Sheikha Latifa praised the success of the 1 Billion Followers Summit for bringing together thousands of content creators and major global social media platforms. She highlighted its role in boosting the creative economy and improving excellence in the digital world.
The award ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Her Excellency Maryam AlHammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet; and His Excellency Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office.
Simon Squibb received the award for his impactful content that inspires people to follow their dreams. His work shows how determination can lead to positive change. Squibb focuses on supporting social causes, addressing global challenges, and inspiring future leaders.
Simon Squibb is a British entrepreneur and motivational speaker with over nine million followers across social media platforms. At the age of 15, he started his first gardening business after leaving school. Later, he moved to China, where he founded Fluids and invested in several businesses. In the digital space, he launched ‘HelpBnk,’ a free platform that offers business advice and consultation, further advancing his mission to help others and create a positive impact.
A panel of global experts and influencers selected Simon Squibb for the award. Judges included popular creators like Ahmed ElGhandour, Prajakta Koli, Zachery Dereniowski, Amine Imnir (Arab Hope Maker 2024), and Hassan Suleiman, known as AboFlah.
The ‘One Billion Award’ received over 16,000 submissions from content creators in 190 countries. To qualify, entries had to show originality, innovation, and high-quality content. They also needed to follow social media standards, promote community values, and create a meaningful and positive impact on a wide audience.
