Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI Day 2: Celeb showstoppers shine.

Photo-Bollywood Bubble

The second day of the Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI showcased a remarkable focus on sustainability, with designers presenting collections that seamlessly combined eco-consciousness with high fashion. Among the standout moments were the presentations by designers like Inca, Chola, and Urvashi Kaur, featuring stunning celebrity showstoppers including Konkona Sen Sharma and Dia Mirza.

Dia Mirza opened the day by walking the runway for Inca's "Love is a Verb" collection by Amit Hansraj. The collection embraced the concept of movement and dynamism, reflected in Dia's metallic grey ensemble layered with black organza fabric. Her look, accessorized with a dramatic knot on the waist and a statement neckpiece, showcased the fusion of sustainability and modern chic elements, with fabrics derived from by-products of rubber and sugarcane.

Chola, led by designer Sohaya Misra, presented the collection "Let’s Play," with Konkona Sen Sharma and Neha Dhupa as showstoppers. Drawing inspiration from a Japanese tea ceremony, the collection emphasized empowerment and self-expression, with models of diverse backgrounds. Konkona wore a black two-piece ensemble paired with a flowy white organza top, while Neha sported power dressing with flared black pants and an asymmetric waistcoat.

Celebrating her 15-year journey, Urvashi Kaur showcased her collection "Prana," an extension of her "Renew" project focusing on zero-waste and eco-design techniques. Ratna Pathak Shah, Tillotama Shome, and others walked the runway for her, each ensemble meticulously crafted to reflect personal identity. Ratna wore a blue and white striped asymmetrical dress, symbolizing functionality and agelessness, while Tillotama stunned in a plunging neckline red midi dress with a pleated skirt and vibrant red vinyl boots. Throughout the day, the event highlighted the intersection of sustainability and fashion, emphasizing the importance of conscious design in the industry.
