His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, joined the opening day of the second Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW). The event is being held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi and will go on until 17 April 2025. It is led by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. This year’s theme is “Towards Longevity: Redefining Health and Wellbeing,” which means looking at how people can live longer and healthier lives.

At the start of the event, His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, who is the head of the Department of Health, gave a speech. He talked about how Abu Dhabi is working hard to keep people healthy for a long time. After that, there were beautiful music and dance shows by talented Emirati performers. There was also a special show that used lights, music, and videos to tell a story about how good health can lead to a better and happier life.
There was a panel talk, where smart people shared their ideas about how to make healthcare better in the future. They talked about using smart tools like artificial intelligence (AI), giving each person care that suits them, and making health systems stronger. The speakers included Dr. Peter Attia, a doctor and writer who studies long life; Leymah Gbowee, a Nobel Peace Prize winner; and Peng Xiao, the boss of a big tech company called G42.
After the ceremony, His Highness walked through the exhibition area. He looked at many new ideas and tools from more than 150 companies and groups from 90 different countries. He said that events like ADGHW help show the world how Abu Dhabi is leading in health, science, and new ideas. He also said that it's important to support new plans and smart machines to improve healthcare.
His Highness said that Abu Dhabi wants to be ready for the future of health. That’s why the city is starting new health projects, doing research, and putting money into strong buildings and high-tech equipment.
His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori also said that this event is part of Abu Dhabi’s big dream to help people live long and healthy lives. He said ADGHW brings together people from all over the world to share ideas and work together for better health for everyone.
This year, ADGHW will welcome more than 15,000 visitors, 1,900 guests, and over 200 speakers. The event will host leaders, thinkers, and health experts from many places around the world. One big part of the event is called The Forum @ ADGHW, where important people from the government, companies, universities, and research groups will talk about big health problems and how to solve them.
There is also a special area called the StartUp Zone, where small new companies can show their ideas and inventions. These startups can also meet investors and get support. During the event, winners of the Smart Health Hackathon will be named. This contest gives young people a chance to share smart and helpful health ideas.
Another important moment will be the ADGHW Innovation Awards. These awards will go to people and groups who are doing amazing work in health and making new things that help others. It will celebrate those who are working hard to make health better around the world.
Abu Dhabi Global Health Week is a major plan by the government to bring people together and build a better future for health. It focuses on helping people before they get sick, giving each person the right care, and looking after the health of the whole community. The main topics of this year’s event include long life, strong health systems, smart digital tools, and more support for science and medicine.
