The remarks were made during a significant meeting held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, which gathered over 80 leaders from various sectors, including energy, technology, climate, and investment, for the ENACT Majlis. Sheikh Khaled reaffirmed the importance of intensifying global efforts among diverse stakeholders to explore effective methods of leveraging the numerous economic and social opportunities arising from the intersection of AI, energy, and climate.
His Highness pointed out that tangible progress in these fields can be achieved through the exchange of expertise and knowledge among global partners involved in these critical sectors. He expressed the commitment of both the UAE and Abu Dhabi to embrace and enhance sustainable practices and solutions across all industries. He highlighted the necessity of leveraging cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence and digital technologies within the energy sector while simultaneously supporting innovative projects aimed at clean and low-emission energy. The ENACT Majlis, an invitation-only event convened by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, was conducted under Chatham House rules, with the theme "AI and Energy: Powering a Sustainable Future." Grounded in longstanding Emirati traditions, the Majlis provided a forum for open, bold, and solutions-oriented discussions.
This gathering followed the release of a joint report by ADNOC, Masdar, and Microsoft titled "Powering Possible: AI and Energy for a Sustainable Future." The ENACT Majlis also took place on the eve of ADIPEC 2024, the world’s largest energy event, being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from November 4 to 7, 2024.
