The train will help people travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai faster, cutting travel time significantly. This will improve the quality of life for residents, citizens, and visitors while bringing the two cities closer. The high-speed train will also encourage business growth and attract investment in industries like logistics and tourism, supporting long-term sustainable growth.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed said that this project represents the UAE leadership's desire to improve national infrastructure and transportation. He highlighted that the train will make the UAE more competitive globally and support long-term development, ensuring a better future for all generations. He also emphasized how this project will help improve the quality of life and align with the UAE’s vision for future progress driven by knowledge and innovation.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid noted that the high-speed train reflects the UAE’s dedication to connecting its cities with advanced transportation systems. He mentioned that the project would reshape the transport sector and set a new global standard for quality and excellence. He also emphasized that it will strengthen key sectors like logistics, tourism, and others, making the UAE a global leader in innovation.

Etihad Rail will oversee the entire project, continuing its work in developing the national railway system. The high-speed train will be able to carry passengers between Abu Dhabi and Dubai in just 30 minutes, with speeds reaching up to 350 km/h. The train will pass important areas and tourist spots, offering a smooth and quick journey.

The project is expected to contribute AED 145 billion to the UAE’s economy over the next 50 years, showing its significant impact on the nation’s growth and global standing. The signing of a Cooperation Charter between Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council, reflects the close collaboration between both emirates in making the project a success.

The development of the high-speed train is progressing, with tenders issued for contracts and the approval of network designs. As these milestones are completed, the project will continue to develop in the coming years.

At the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed also viewed a presentation on the UAE’s first passenger train fleet. They toured the train and explored its advanced features, designed for speeds up to 200 km/h, ensuring a comfortable and efficient travel experience.

This announcement, along with the unveiling of the passenger train fleet, marks an important step in improving rail transport services in the UAE. The passenger train will provide a safe, reliable, and efficient way to travel, connecting different cities and regions across the UAE.

The ceremony also included the announcement of four new passenger rail stations in the UAE, located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah. These stations will offer better access to rail services and connect with metro and bus lines, creating an integrated transportation network. The stations are designed with modern facilities and reflect the UAE’s heritage and commitment to excellence and sustainability.
