In response to directives from the Supreme Court, authorities in Karachi swiftly acted to remove barriers positioned along the road outside the Chief Minister House. This action was part of a broader initiative following the SC's mandate to eliminate obstructions outside various key buildings, including the Sindh Rangers headquarters, CM House, and Governor House. The court instructed authorities to submit a report within three days detailing the progress of the removal.
During the hearing presided over by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, the Chief Justice emphasized the importance of unimpeded public movement. He denounced the practice of obstructing roads, emphasizing its illegality.
Furthermore, CJP Isa raised concerns regarding encroachments by both federal and provincial governments on public lands, urging authorities to promptly address the issue. He specifically directed that roads be "cleared" of encroachments and emphasized the responsibility of encroachers to cover the expenses related to removal.

Additionally, the Chief Justice cautioned against the misuse of security concerns as a pretext for road blockades, urging authorities to refrain from such practices. He questioned the rationale behind certain allocations of public spaces, such as the transfer of Jinnah Court premises to the Rangers.
In a pointed remark, the Chief Justice suggested relocating barriers within the Governor House premises, highlighting the need to prioritize public accessibility. He reiterated that encroachments, even within the vicinity of the Supreme Court, should be addressed promptly and effectively.
The Supreme Court's proactive stance underscores its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public welfare. By issuing clear directives and closely monitoring compliance, the court aims to safeguard citizens' rights to unobstructed movement and access to public spaces.
