New Delhi: Tim Walz, the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and Governor of Minnesota, was involved in a multi-car crash around 1:00 p.m. local time on Monday in Milwaukee. The accident occurred when one of the press vans accompanying Walz was struck from behind, causing it to crash into the vehicle in front of it.
Governor Walz, who was in a front vehicle, emerged from the incident unharmed. However, the rear press vans, which included members of the media traveling with him, were significantly impacted. At least one person, a pool reporter, suffered a broken arm and required medical attention. The collision caused the reporters to be "violently thrown forward" when struck from behind.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, promptly reached out to Tim Walz to check on his safety following the crash. Meanwhile, JD Vance, the Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Donald Trump's running mate, expressed concern on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Hoping everyone's OK."

Addressing the situation at a Labor Day event shortly after the accident, Walz expressed relief that all individuals involved were expected to recover and extended his gratitude to the first responders for their prompt and effective assistance.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
