The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) in Jordan has said that the number of fiber optic subscriptions reached about 556,350 by the second quarter of 2024. This shows that more people in Jordan are using fiber optic internet.

The TRC’s report shows that the number of fiber optic subscriptions has been increasing since the second quarter of 2023. In the second quarter of 2023, there were about 490,000 fiber subscriptions. By the third quarter, this grew to 513,740, and by the fourth quarter, it increased to 540,050. The growth continued in 2024, with fiber subscriptions reaching 548,640 in the first quarter and 556,350 in the second quarter.
The TRC also shared that total fixed broadband subscriptions in Jordan reached 793,740 by the second quarter of 2024.
The TRC is responsible for making the rules for the telecommunications and IT sectors in Jordan. It also decides the rules for giving out licenses to companies that provide these services. The increase in fiber optic subscriptions shows that fast internet is becoming more important in Jordan.
