Japan has initiated the issuance of eVisas to Indian tourists, implementing a system that eliminates the necessity for physical visa stickers in passports. Under this innovative program, Indian travelers bound for Japan can electronically request visas via designated Japan Visa Application Centers managed by VFS Global.
The eVisa caters to a single-entry short-term visa tailored explicitly for tourism purposes, permitting a stay of up to 90 days in the island nation. Both Indian citizens and foreign nationals residing in India qualify to apply for this eVisa.
Applicants will channel their submissions through Visa Application Centers supervised by VFS Global, mirroring the previous procedure. However, instead of conventional visa stickers affixed to passports, applicants will now obtain electronic visas.
To initiate the application process for a tourist visa in Japan, follow these steps:
At the airport check-in, exhibit the 'visa issuance notice' on your device. The travel agency will furnish you with a 'Visa Issuance Notice' featuring a two-dimensional barcode. Scan the barcode and input all required information to access the notice. Click 'Display' to view the electronic 'visa issuance notice.'
It's noteworthy that during the application process, applicants might be summoned to appear in person at the Japanese overseas establishment with jurisdiction over their place of residence for an interview
